- Formation Space Design
Many graduates from the Space Design BTS offered at ESMA will have the opportunity to move towards a space designer activity.
The activity of space designer covers a wide range of actions, among which the reconfiguration of the interior space, the composition of an exhibition, the design of an outdoor terrace, or even an urban layout… In each case, he aims at proposing an organization of the space and an arrangement of the elements in accordance with the needs related to the customer’s concerns.
A multi-skilled position
This aesthete has notions in urban planning and architecture, which allow him to adopt an overall vision of the project. Without losing sight of the perfect integration of each element into its environment, the space designer also plays with the furniture layout, the creation or demolition of dividing walls, but also with materials, colours and decoration, which will enhance his work.
On his work sites, the space designer manages the entire project : after the client brief, and the validation of his sketches and 3D plans, he supervises the teams dedicated to the project execution (electricians, masons, craftsmen…).
A good general culture
Whether integrated within a design office, an architectural firm or working independently, the space designer can rely on a solid general culture and a good knowledge of new trends, which enable him to propose ever more innovative solutions.
