On 12 september, The Monptellier Creative Campus organised the jury for the Illustration Concept Art section. This was an opportunity for final-year students to present their final-year projects to a panel of professionals.

A day rich in exchanges … and emotions

Graduation juries are like no other! The students, who are both stressed and enthusiastic, see it as the culmination of 3 years of study, during which they have acquired a high level of technical skills and have been able to develop their own artistic and graphic identity. It’s at the end-of-studies jury that the full extent of their work becomes apparent, in the form of a project developed in their final year, the aim of which is to enable them to move progressively into the professional sphere.

AN expert jury representing the industry

For this ICA 2023 Jury, 25 students presented their final-year projects. 15 jurors faced them with the difficult task of judging their work, taking into account technical quality, the relevance of their proposals, the originality of the works and their ability to present and explain their approach.

Among the members of the jury, the students had the chance to test their skills against the expert eye of some of the world’s leading illustrators and artists, including Yoann Colombie-Vivès (author and illustrator of Maison Tremble), Mathilde Fenouillet “Myrtille” (author with Editions La Martinière), Jean Christophe Caurette (founder of Editions Caurette), Hervé Groussin “Nuro” (senior concept artist at Ubisoft), and the multidisciplinary Olivier Dangla… A highly representative sample of the illustration and design sector.

At the end of the deliberations, during which the great diversity and extreme richness of the works were praised, 3 prizes and 3 “favourites” mentions were awarded.
