Masterclass with Studio Brand Brothers

ESMA Toulouse students in their 1st and 3rd year Graphic Design Pro courses attended a masterclass given by one of the founding members of Studio Brand Brothers. It was an opportunity for them to immerse themselves in the design and strategic direction of brand identities, areas they will certainly be tackling in their professional careers.

Founded in 2010 by Johan Debit and Jean-Rémi Massery, Brand Brothers is a design studio that uses graphic and typographic experimentation to address visual identity and branding issues. “We think of our projects as functional and useful systems that combine high standards with openness of form and content,” explain the directors of Brand Brothers on their website.

Since 2010, the work of this structure, based in Paris and Toulouse, has won numerous awards from top art magazines and websites such as stages, It’s Nice That, Couteurs Arts, Communication Arts, Print Magazine, The brand Identity, Brand New, Behance, Creative Boom, AIGA Eye on Design, Viction: ary, Sandu Publishing.

 

AREA OF EXPERTISE: DESIGN AND STRATEGIC DIRECTION OF CONTEMPORARY BRAND IDENTITIES

Under the leadership of Édouard Marpeau, their teacher, the students in this masterclass listened to Jean-Rémi Massery present the approach and vision of the studio, born of the meeting of the two founders around the creation of innovative and contemporary brand images.

Branding – the design and strategic direction of brand identities – has become their area of expertise, recognised through a large and varied client base, numerous international prizes and awards.
Jean-Rémi Massery used a number of case studies from their portfolio to explain the studio’s innovative and original creative approach to students on the Graphic Design Pro Course at ESMA Toulouse.
