Transmusicales 2022 : our students create a video game linked to the festival

44th transmusicales encounters : rennes students in the front row !

Partner of the TransMusicales festival, ESMA Rennes allows its Video Game students to take part in the 44th edition of the event, with a view to creating a game related to the festival. 

TransMusicales : “As if you were there !”

Since 2021, the video games course at theRennes school has benefited from an unprecedented partnership with the TransMusicales festival. Last April, students from the school created video games linked to the 2021 edition of the festival, with a view to retracing the experience of the event and allowing players to take on the role of a festival-goer, a sound engineer, or to test their knowledge of music in an interactive quiz. A virtual experience that allowed gamers to experience the festival as if they were there !

This year, around twenty students from ESMA Rennes took part in the 44th TransMusicales, to try and soak up the energy of the event, which is one of the major events in contemporary music. Invited in VIP mode, they discovered the backstage of the festival, met the technicians, interviewed the musicians present… All of which will inspire them in the conception of the games linked to the event that they will create soon, and whose content they will reveal next spring.

What is TransMusicales ?

Founded in 1979, the TransMusicales festival in Rennes is a not-to-be-missed event for fans of contemporary music. With events organised throughout the year in a wide variety of forms (concerts, workshops, meetings, etc.), the TransMusicales reach their peak at the festival – the Rencontres TransMusicales of Rennes – which attracts between 50 and 60,000 participants every year.
