A RETURN OF THE STUDIOS TO THE SCHOOLS

After two years of absence, the Framestore studio came directly from London to meet the 4th year students of CG Animation and FX Master Degree. Although the conference was held in Montpellier, it was broadcast live on the three other campuses so that none of our graduating students could miss the words of these professionals. Even if conferences were organised digitally, nothing can replace a physical meeting offering another quality in the exchanges and interactions.

Two representatives arrived in the southern metropolis: Freddy Salazar – CG Sup real time integration with VFX – and Toyah Dunningham – Senior Recruitment Manager -. Together they presented the Framestore studio, its specificities, as well as the projects that they carry out. Indeed, the studio is renowned for the quality of its visual effects and works on major film and television productions (as well as advertising and immersive experiences). They took a look at some of the specific projects and explained the secrets of the studio’s production and research and development.

Toyah Dunningham, who is in charge of human resources, spoke about the recruitment of artists and the profiles targeted. She explained the careers and opportunities offered by Framestore, as well as the working and living environment for employees and the services available to employees, such as in-house training.

Finally, the two representatives of the Framestore studio met with the graduation film groups in order to discover their projects, discuss with the members and of course, give them some professional advice regarding their production.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE FRAMESTORE STUDIO

The Framestore studio was founded in 1986 in the Soho area of London. Subsequently, several branches were opened: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vancouver and Mumbai.

The studio specialises in visual effects but also offers services in real-time animation, capture lab, virtual reality, etc. For the past twenty years, the studio has worked on film productions (Harry Potter, Crossroads, Gravity, Blade Runner 2049, Jingle Jangle, Wonder Woman 1984, Fantastic Animals: Dumbledore’s Secrets, Dying Can Wait, SPider-man: No Way Home, etc.), TV series (Game of Thrones, The Secret of the Worlds, and more), and theatrical productions. ), series (Game of Throne, Wanda Vision, His Dark Materials (2nd season), The Witcher, Hunters, The crown, The boys, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Dexter: New Blood, The Sandman etc.), advertising and immersive experiences (notably for theme parks).

Framestore has received numerous awards for its work, including the famous Oscars, BAFTA and VES Awards.
