Visual identity search for the concert hall "The Rockstore"

This project was realized by Catherine Pujol, 2nd year student of BTS Graphic Design, during the setting up of an event for 12-17 years old at Rockstore.

“The Rockstore is a mythical concert hall very popular with students. Located in the city center of Montpellier, between the Place de la Comedie and the train station, the Rockstore has become in 25 years a concert hall and a cult place nights of Montpellier.

The venue and its red Cadillac have hosted more than 3,000 concerts since 1986. The Rockstore has always been involved in the musical development of the local scene.

THE DEMAND

Creation of a visual identity and all the communication of the following event: Recreate as 30 years ago the opening of Sunday afternoons from 13H to 20h, for young people aged 12 to 17 years. It is an event turned on the urban culture.

It was therefore necessary to bring teenagers together around the street culture, a world that surrounds them and is visible at all times and especially that evolves and changes at every moment. It must be a moment of cultural exchange between teenagers and professionals.

I wanted to create a graphic emblem, which could talk to them all, so I left on the rat, he is the animal that best represents the city.

My concept is to tie the rat to teenagers because they live in the city, feed on Street culture and evolve in it. The geometry of the logo expresses the different facets of these teenagers, their personalities, the music they listen to. “
